Virtual Private Network (VPN)
What is VPN?
Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a private network that utilizes a public network (usually the Internet) to connect remote sites. In the past, a dedicated connection such as a leased line had to be installed between sites to create a secure private network. However, owing to the extremely high cost in this implementation, VPN is invented to make use of the public network to carry out accomplish the same goal. The VPN mechanism employs encryption measures to create a secure virtual network.
The above diagram demonstrates a Firewall and VPN solution designated to offer reliable, robust performance and efficiency, yet highly secured and manageable, for users locally and remotely, to access and exchange networked resources and data between each other and between regional offices.
The seamless network integration of the multiple regional branches through the secured VPN will enable users in different countries to conveniently access and update the company's shared or classified information, while maintaining data confidentiality, integrity and accountability.
